Microblading is a semi-permanent option for obtaining the ideal brow shape. Before opting for microblading, it is important to ask the right questions and gather information regarding the procedure and what to do after it is done. It can all be quite overwhelming, but we’ve got your basics covered here. Let’s begin, shall we?

Do I need a consultation?

Yes. Prior to any permanent makeup session with any artist, a consultation should be performed. During this consultation, skin conditions, allergies, procedure details and other concerns/questions should be addressed. There should also be waivers to sign as well.

What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique that enhances your eyebrow. It’s done by using tiny blades that add pigment to the brow area. This method is different than regular tattoos because it only deposits color to the top of the skin and will fade in about a year.

Does microblading hurt?

The process has been described from mild to no pain at all. There are certain factors to consider such as your own individual pain tolerance level and even your menstrual cycle (pain tolerance levels are naturally lower during that time of the month). Your eyebrow area will be numbed prior to the procedure beginning.

How is microblading done?

The process is started by first numbing your eyebrow area. Next, your eyebrows will be shaped using a pencil and your facial features. Most customers who fill in their eyebrows either come with them already done or they bring a picture to ensure the shape is consistent with their liking. We allow you to check the shape before beginning.

The process of microblading is then begun. This process lasts about 20 minutes .Small strokes are created by using tiny needles lined up that look like a blade. Pigment is then deposited just beneath the surface of your skin, leaving you with flawless eyebrows every day.

After your appointment, it’s important that you follow a proper aftercare routine. Healing guidelines differ depending upon the type of skin you have.

Is microblading hard to maintain?

The toughest part of microblading is keeping the brow area dry for 10 days after the procedure. Your healing guidelines will differ based upon your skin type.Healing can take 1 to 2 weeks. Be mindful of touching the area and applying the proper ointments per the guidelines you are provided.

Will I need a touch-up?

A touch-up is not mandatory, but is recommended 4 to 6 weeks after the initial procedure. This will provide an opportunity to refine the initial results, including shape enhancement and applying a darker pigment if needed. Long-term maintenance typically consists of color boost (or mini microblading sessions) every 6 to 18 months.
